This Australian film and television actor is much more famous because of his theater work and the way that he has been connected to theater. His contribution and dedication to theater is much more than that to television. He only makes occasional appearances on television, but is very regular with thearter.

John Noble was the Artistic Director of the ‘Stage Company of S.A.’ for almost ten years. Besides that he has also performed with all the major art companies. To mention a few of his credits on theater he has produced more than seventy Australian plays, has given 240 performances of Ron Blair’s one man play ‘The Christian Brothers’. John teaches acting at Brent Street School of Arts and has also conducted masters at N.I.D.A., Flinders University, the R.A.A.F., The Centre for Performing Arts, Carclew Youth Drama Camps, the S.A. Education Department, the National Book Council and the NSW & ACT Writers Centers. With this we are just mentioning very few of his major contributions in the world of theatre.

Coming down to his acting career on television and films, the actor has made guest appearances in TV series like ‘Big Sky’, ‘Police Rescue’, ‘Water Rats’, ‘Timetrax’, ‘Above the Law’, ‘Stingers’, ‘The Young Lions’, ‘Home & Away’ and ‘Tales of the South Pacific’. He has done a semi regular role in the series ‘All Saints’, where he played the role of neuro-surgeon Dr John Madsen. His film career includes his work in movies like ‘The Dreaming’, ‘Nostradamus Kid’, ‘A Sting in the Tail’, ‘Call me Mr. Brown’, ‘Airtight’, ‘The Monkeys Mask’ and ‘A Virtual Nightmare’. The actor is most famous for his performance as Denethor in ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’ film.

Most recently, the actor is doing the role of Walter Bishop in the TV show ‘Fringe‘. In the series he plays mentally unstable scientist Dr. Walter Bishop who has been locked up for 17 years in Saint Claire’s, a mental institute. After coming out of the mental institute he often expresses wonder at modern technology, and seems to be disconnected from the world. He was also nominated for best supporting actor Satellite Award for ‘Fringe’ in 2008.

Coming down to his personal life he is married to Penny and has three children by the name Samantha, Jessica, and Daniel. His daughter Samantha is an actress. In his free time actor enjoys researching, on the internet, and looking for the scientific jargon which can be used in the scripts for Fringe.
