Not just acting, Lance is a jack of all trades and has tried his hands at everything right from theater to films to television acting to music and singing. Lance was a student of composition at Eastman School Of Music, Rochester, and acting at the Yale Drama School.
Lance started his acting career by working in movies. He has worked in movies like ‘What the Deaf Man Heard’, ‘The Siege’, ‘Great Expectations’, ‘I Dreamed of Africa’, ‘Don’t Say a Word’, ‘Bridget’, ‘Dirty Work’ and ‘Tennessee’. If we have a look at his television career the actor has worked in series like ‘The Wire’, where he played the role of Cedric Daniels. He also appeared in Oz, where he did the role of Detective Johnny Basil and also made an appearance in the fourth season of Lost, where he plays the role of a ruthless corporate recruiter, Matthew Abaddon.

Recently, the actor has managed to get a regular and prominent role in the series ‘Fringe’. In the series he plays the role of Phillip Broyles a Homeland Security agent who runs the Fringe division, which is established to investigate a series of terrorist/unexplained phenomena.

Now that the actor is working on both ‘Lost’ and ‘Fringe’, doubts have been raised if he will be able to do justice both his roles at the same time. But Abrams, the producer of both ‘Lost’ and ‘Fringe’ stated that he would be able to do episodes of ‘Lost’ whenever required.

In 2007, he also did an advertisement for Cadillac. Coming down to his personal life Lance loves to read and likes watching movies. He has two children, a daughter and a son. Lance has been writing songs since the age of seven and is a self possessed Trekkie.
