Fringe Show Summary
Fringe Tv Show is a science fiction series that is steeped in mythology and deals with paranormal activity. The series premiered on the Fox Network on 9th September 2008. The show which has been described as a cross between The X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone and Dark Angel is part of the Fox’s new initiative known as Remote-Free TV. Under this new initiative, the episodes of Fringe will be longer than standard dramas on current network television since the number of commercials and promo spots to be aired during the episode has been cut by half which has increased the shows’ run time by nearly 6 minutes.

Fringe has been created by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and the three have also been the executive producers for the series along with Bryan Burk, and Jeff Pinkne while the series has been produced by Bad Robot in association with Warner Bros. Television. The series has aired a total of eleven episodes till date with the first ten episodes aired till 2nd December 2008 before the series went on a hiatus. The eleventh episode was aired on 20th January when the series returned from the mid-season break. A total of 22 episodes are supposed to be aired in the current season which is also the first season of the series.
The story of the series revolves around a of FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham who teams up with a self-taught genius named Peter Bishop to investigate a rapidly spreading unexplained phenomenon of the threatening kind. The two are helped in their investigation by Bishop’s estranged but brilliant father Dr. Walter Bishop who was performing experiments on the fringe of real science and who is being held in a mental institution as he is thought to be insane.

The trio tries to unravel the mystery behind the weird mishaps occurring around the world which include a newborn baby aging rapidly and dying, a bus full of passengers getting trapped in a strange substance like mosquitoes in amber etc. They learn that these weird happenings are seemingly part of a larger pattern and might be sourced to Massive Dynamics, a leading global research company. During the entire first half of the first season, Mitchell Loeb, a rogue FBI agent, tries to utilize some of these events as a part of a larger plan to help a man escape from prison. Besides, Massive Dynamics is desperately trying to resurrect John Scott, who is Olivia’s former lover and colleague, and kidnaps Olivia for the purpose.
The series opened to a very good audience response with 9.13 million viewers tuning in to watch the pilot episode which garnered a rating of 3.2/9 Nielsen Ratings. However, some audience also criticized the series which according to them showed excessive violence and gore. But overall the series has managed to impress a large number of the audiences.
